ECCA FOUNDER - Eddie Walter 1946-2007 Eddie Walter founded The East Coast Car Association in 1999 to raise money for St. Mary’s Hospital for Children. Eddie dedicated all his time to creating the ECCA’s weekly cruise nights and shows. He would attend any car show, cruise night, street fair or parade that would help raise money for his cause. When the show season ended, Eddie started the ECCA Annual Toy Run which typically averages over 100 vehicles. Packed with toys, cars and motorcycles make their way through Queens, New York, with the help of a police escort. Upon arriving at St. Mary’s, the toys are given out to the children and the club’s donation is given to the hospital. To date, the ECCA has raised over $60,000 for St. Mary’s. Our 2009 donation was over $10,000. Eddie passed away suddenly on February 26, 2007. We vowed to keep the ECCA running as Eddie would have wanted. |
